The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is seeking an energetic and engaged full-time Intern to join our team for 10 weeks during June, July, and August. We are looking for candidates who have: strong organizational skills; an eye for detail; experience working in a fast-paced environment and on small teams; a desire for professional growth; experience conducting legal research; and a demonstrated interest in human rights and/or technology policy. This internship will be focused on communications as well as policy/legal research. This internship offers a $5,000 stipend.
The mission of GNI is to protect and advance freedom of expression and privacy rights in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry by setting a global standard for responsible company decision making and serving as a multistakeholder voice in the face of government restrictions and demands. Our global membership includes academic experts and academic organizations, civil society groups (including digital rights and press freedom groups), leading ICT companies, and investors from around the world.
This internship will provide opportunities to work with a small, dedicated staff of 7 people in a hybrid remote/in-person environment, and to engage with leading practitioners at the intersection of technology policy, human rights, and corporate responsibility.
